end of the road…

We are home after another epic journey! Sorry for not updating more frequently but with cell service in the north being spotty, by the time we finally got a signal or WIFI every few days, there was often not enough power to permit uploads of pictures.  Then I just got farther and farther behind. 12,000+…

Tuktoyaktuk, plan B & plan C

We spent three nights in Alaska; Anchorage and Fairbanks, driving the loop to allow more time for the ice to break up and rivers to recede and snow to melt. We had another beautiful drive along the Top of the World Highway. We had stashed a bunch of bottles of wine on the Canadian side…

Anchorage Alaska

We are exploring Anchorage. The WiFi up here is not that good, so you may just have received a post not that long ago, sorry for the duplication, I emailed a few people directly. We got within 80 kms of the Arctic circle, Eagle Plains on the Dempster Highway. Low and behold a snow storm…

Whitehorse Yukon

As I am writing this we are in Whitehorse Yukon. Nice place! While everyone at home is soaking up yet more rain we are enjoying 25+ dry, sunny weather! We had a quick visit with Rob’s nephew Carter and Rachael in Chetwynd. They allowed us to have a quick shower which was much needed as…

Home sweet home!

We have made it home!! It was an awesome trip. 18,400 kilometres and all 10 provinces. What a big country we live in. We were quite lucky with weather, temperatures ranging from 3.5 to 42 degrees Celsius. It’s hard to pack for that range, but luckily we were able to pick up a few warmth…

On the prairies again…

We have left the east coast and homeward bound. Currently in central Saskatchewan. So far we have clocked 16,110 kilometres, 32 days on the road, WOW!! Still two more provinces to go before home. The weather has certainly changed, 30+ degrees going east, westward rainy and quite a bit cooler. Today we are seeing lots…
